MMAM AW25

MMAM unveiled its AW5 collection, "Contrasting Layers", an examination in harmonizing opposing forces through fashion, movement, and sound. Designer Park Hyun transformed the runway into a living canvas, where garments became extensions of the body in motion, thanks to a collaboration with choreographer Lee Ruda.

MMAM’s ethos, celebrating the duality of human growth, shone through asymmetrical cuts, layered textures, and a palette oscillating between bold monochromes and delicate pastels. The collection included structured wool coats with raw, frayed edges paired with diaphanous silk slips, or tailored suiting interrupted by whimsical, childlike scribbles embroidered into the fabric. The brand’s signature gender-neutral silhouettes felt both protective and exposed, mirroring the show’s theme of “innocence hiding behind strength”.

Held at the Palais de Tokyo, the show’s industrial-chic backdrop amplified the collection’s raw elegance. MMAM’s AW25 was a meditation on growth, a reminder that beauty lies in the balance of opposites. Contrasting Layers didn’t just dress the body; it moved with it, proving fashion’s power to tell stories beyond seams and stitches.
