Xuly Bet SS25

I was just at the world's most fashionable block party, XULY.Bët SS25. Yes, that's exactly what it was. Traveled back in time to 1990s for the chicest block party in the world. Designer Lamine Kouyaté is known for being a pioneer in upcycling. He has created high fashion looks from transforming discarded garments into provoking streetwear since the 90s. The vibe of the show was just over the top fun. We were all shoulder to shoulder and as each model came down the runway most made sure we were all having a good time with them. Many of them danced, many of the audience shouted words of encouragement to them and they reciprocated. The ambience was unlike any runway show I seen so far. It was really like you were in the 1990s, boomboxes on shoulders and everybody just wanting to break out into a dance.

Lamine Kouyaté's XULY.Bët SS25 collection was a breath of fresh air in the sometimes stuffy world of Paris Fashion Week. The show took place in the historic Passage du Sentier, a spot that's basically the birthplace of Parisian fashion. Kouyaté, the mastermind behind XULY.Bët, has been turning heads since the 90s with his upcycling magic. This guy was doing sustainable fashion before it was a buzzword. He's been out there, scouring flea markets and breathing new life into vintage finds for decades.

The SS25 collection was a delightful mix of old and new. We saw: Redesigned sports jerseys, vibrant print separates that screamed "summer fun" and figure-hugging stretch garments with XULY.Bët's signature red seams. Kouyaté isn't just about looking good he's all about doing good too. Some of the pieces in this collection were crafted from protest banners belonging to UNSA, a union fighting for public education.

What really sets XULY.Bët apart is the energy. It's not just a fashion show; it's an experience. Kouyaté wants us to embrace joy and rise above anxiety. In a world where we're all too often isolated behind our headphones, XULY.Bët is bringing people together, one fabulous outfit at a time. So, my fashion forward friends, if you're looking for a brand that's all about sustainability, inclusivity, and just plain fun, XULY.Bët should be on your radar. Lamine Kouyaté is proving that fashion can be eco-friendly, socially conscious, and still make you want to dance. And isn't that what we all need right now?
