The Art of Flirting

Lutz Huelle SS20

German-born, Paris-based designer Lutz Huelle presented his SS20 collection at Palais de Tokyo. He was inspired by the idea of global community and dressing in an eclectic style without any rules or preconceptions. This SS20 collection was about him falling in love with Paris all over again. Paris and its easy, flirty elegance, always looking done whether it’s day or night.

The genius of these easy silhouettes truly lie in the textile selections of the designer. A-line shapes and baseball jackets would not have come off as so polished if they were not in a complex mix of luxurious satin, dotted tulle and denim. The easy to wear styles leaves no excuses when dressing Parisian style, one will always look understatedly chic. Lantern sleeves add extra drama to the looks and tulle pants emphasize the unexpected in the ensemble.

My personal favorite was the magenta cigarette pants. Such an easy piece but it packed a lot of punch. Imagine walking into a room in a shiny satin pair of magenta pants. It doesn’t even matter what you have on top because trust me, no one will be noticing. Every piece in this collection make me think being chic is actually attainable for me.
