Valette Studio SS25

Paris in June can be unforgiving, and the Hotel Normandy was no exception on June 18th, 2024. As I arrived at Valette Studio's menswear show, I was greeted by Hugo, a charming gentleman who seemed impervious to the heat in his shiny Courreges vegan leather jacket, the "it" item of the season as seen on various Parisian throughout the city in various occasions.

Inside, the temperature soared to the upper 90s, turning the show's programs into makeshift fans. The theme? "Poplin!", a humble fabric reimagined in Valette's signature style. Pierre-François Valette's collection was a true distillation of the brand's identity since its 2020 inception. Tailoring and craftsmanship took center stage, with the jacket as the cornerstone of style. The apparent simplicity of the couture silhouettes belied their complexity, revealed in the intricate details.

The highlight? A knotted jacket that could be worn multiple ways, epitomizing the inventiveness and modularity of Valette Studio's wardrobe. Paired with sailor pants or shorts, each piece could create looks ranging from minimal to sophisticated.

As the models sashayed down the runway in total looks of blue, white, and black poplin, I couldn't help but admire Valette's ability to transform this unassuming textile into a fashion statement. Despite the sweltering heat, it was clear that Valette Studio's SS25 collection was hot in all the right ways.
