Walter Van Beirendonck SS25

As I stepped into the enchanting garden next to the Jardin du Luxembourg, I knew I was in for a treat. Walter Van Beirendonck, the delightfully eccentric member of the Antwerp Six, was about to unveil his SS25 collection and the air buzzed with anticipation.

The moment the show began it was clear that Van Beirendonck had outdone himself, yet again. Models strutted down the runway in tiny party hats, eccentric face makeup and colorful rounded noses, transforming into a whimsical parade of clowns. It was as if we'd stumbled into a circus fever dream and I couldn't help but grin from ear to ear. The garden setting was pure magic. Frogs croaked and cuckoo birds called out, creating a natural soundtrack that perfectly complemented the playful circus tune accompanying the show. It was as if Mother Nature herself was in on Van Beirendonck's grand joke.

Each look was a masterpiece of absurdity. Polka dots adorned suits as padding or buckles, while dramatic bulbous shoes and over-exaggerated silhouettes pushed the boundaries of fashion. Mini top hats paired with shrunken jackets and oversized trousers created a delightful visual paradox.

As I watched the models clown around in their outrageous outfits, I couldn't help but feel transported to another dimension. Van Beirendonck's psychedelic dreamworld had come to life before our eyes, and we were all lucky enough to be a part of it. In a world that often takes itself too seriously, Walter Van Beirendonck's SS25 show was a breath of fresh air. It reminded us all that fashion can be fun, weird, and wonderfully absurd. And isn't that what we love about him?
