Loewe SS25

Jonathan Anderson, the maestro of modern luxury, has once again left us all in awe with his latest masterpiece. Excitement could not be contained at this re-see. Everything was sublime. Getting to see all of the garments up close, fresh off the runway was a dream come true. This season, Loewe featured structured see-through silk chiffon dresses draped over garment cages, reminiscent of hoop skirts of yesteryear. And feathers, tons of feathers. The craftsmanship on all of the feathered pieces were just astounding. There were feathered shirts, feathered pants, feathered dress, everything! My personal favorite was feather "sweatshirt". A feather shirt that had a sweatshirt texture printed over it in a heather gray. Just genius. There is always so much humor in Jonathan Anderson's creations. So much of this is rooted in childlike play that one cannot possibly take life too seriously if they are a Loewe fan. I almost forgot the leather accessories! They were all impossibly delectable. From bags to shoes and endless bag charms, I need all of this.

But that's just the tip of the iceberg! Anderson's "radical reduction" approach this season was nothing short of revolutionary. In a world full of noise, he dared to strip away the excess, leaving us with silhouettes that command attention without any bells and whistles. It's minimalism with a twist, and I'm living for it! The show space itself was a stark white canvas, punctuated only by Tracey Emin's poignant sculpture, "The only place you came to me was in my sleep". Talk about setting the mood! It was the perfect backdrop for Anderson's exploration of silence and vulnerability.

Now, let's talk about those feathers... Anderson took it to a whole new level by printing iconic artworks on feathered tees. Imagine Van Gogh's "Sunflowers" or Manet's "The Fifer" printed onto these feather t-shirts, absolutely divine! The debut of the trapezoid shaped 'Madrid' bag had me weak at the knees. Do they have these at the CDG Duty Free store? Is there a Loewe Duty Free store? I need to pay more attention. It's clear that Anderson's reign at Loewe continues to push boundaries and redefine luxury, it's so sad to see him leave. But we are all now highly anticipating the next season of Loewe. What will it look like moving forward?

In a world that often feels chaotic, Jonathan Anderson reminds us that sometimes, less truly is more. And if this is what "less" looks like, give me less any day of the week.
