Kolor AW24

Kolor is a genius at reinventing products that are already out there, making them exciting and alive again. This season they revisit products that have long been staples and everybody's closets, known as "masterpieces". There is a sense of familiarity with each of these pieces and it is Kolor's intent to take these familiar pieces and add a little bit of uncertainty to them.

Do these "masterpiece" products still fit in today's fashion climate? Should a real "masterpiece" be more personal? How much personalization goes into a "masterpiece" before it's not just a staple anymore? Through this collection, Kolor works with what can be described as a variety of standard silhouettes and revitalizes them with the signature Kolor touch, adding playful and detailed accents.

Throughout this collection, preppy pieces of the late '80s and to mid 90s played a vital role. Many of these were oversized, creating the illusion that these are worn by teens not yet fully grown into their clothes. Fur elise sweaters and pleated skirts arrived on the runway with prep school jackets. Embellishments were hidden toward the hemline in speckles of gold and deconstructed patterns were sprinkled throughout the collection. Upon reviewing the collection it looked like a college kid got dressed in the dark. This is not a bad thing you see. It made the collection full of the youthful joy.
