I'll Take One of Each!

Magda Butrym Paris Fashion Week AW19

Have you ever shown up at a party and felt…like a potato? This is how I felt going into the showroom in a very posh area of Paris to see the new Magda Butrym collection. Butrym launched her Warsaw based label in 2014 after years of working as a stylist. A veteran in the industry, she knows both what women wants to wear and how to encourage them to be an elevated version of their everyday selves.

Two It girl-looking models welcomed me at the entrance. I know I shouldn’t be, but I was surprised by how nice they were. I took more photos than needed but I was really into the tough femininity look they had going on, it was very Amelia Earnhardt. The collection was beautifully thought out with unexpected trickles of rhinestone appearing on pant legs and flourishes of lace accompanying structured jackets. Fur accents made everything look so plush and luxurious. One can easily emulate an “I’m with the band” vibe with a Magda Butrym rouched velvet dress. If I can have just one outfit from this collection I think I’d feel like a million bucks and insist on standing at the entrance with those It girls.
