OMG OMG OMG
Nicholas Jebran Paris Couture Week AW19
Les Invalides was hot. The air was unrelentingly heavy in this historic setting as the audience eagerly awaits for the show to begin. I make new friends with the two gorgeous attendees sitting next to me. Matthieu pulled out a beautiful fan and started fanning generously at his friend Ines. He must have noticed I was uncomfortable in the heat because he twisted his fan an extra inch or two just so I can get some air too. This small gesture will forever warm my heart. There are still good people out there, even at fashion shows.
The welcomed sound of the first look walking to a beat finally emerges out of the speakers. Lebanese celebrity designer, Nicholas Jebran, is just…WOW. From the first look to the last I did not cease to be completely enthralled. The term “Go big or go home.” is how I would describe this couture collection. “Too much of a good thing.” was definitely not the case. The collection was sheer opulence. It was beading on top of embroidery on top of lush fabrics such as velvet and silk satin. It was the grand entrance AND the grand finale. There was something for every taste in this collection. If you wanted barely there and sexy you’ll have it in a red sequenced slashed up to the waist dress. If you want elegant chic there is a black backwards tuxedo dress draped so flatteringly that it is sure to make anyone’s Cinderella dream come true. That dress has got to be the 2019 redesign of Celine Dion’s iconic 1999 Oscar’s look, updated and upgraded. Nicholas Jebran’s AW19/20 couture collection was to say the least, incredible.
