Aadnevik London Fashion Week AW19
Waiting amongst a large crowd of the fashion elite in the corridors of the Royal Horseguards Hotel I could tell this show was going to be something special. After about an hour of free flowing champagne in the waiting area we were finally allowed to enter the event space. Pushing through the crowd, the heat coming from the numerous bodies and sources of light was almost overwhelming. My eyes go toward the gold curtains that separate the runway from the back stage. Finally, the show begins.
The first dress that is presented set the tone for the show. THE little black dress strolled down the runway with a sheer boned bodice, feather trims, high slit…it sat beautifully off the shoulders of the model. At this point I knew the collection was going to be sexy, confident, celebratory and luxurious. The remainder of the show did not disappoint. The next dress in a pleated one shoulder fuchsia satin was dynamic and impactful. Then a long black multi-tiered ruffled gown that was slightly reminiscent of an art deco silhouette appeared. The collection continued with a strikingly flirtatious barely blue lacy off the shoulder dress in lace and a boned bodice. The music took us on a journey with haunting ethnic voices and the urban sounds of the train. This AW19 collection was a full cast of characters for a very intricate story. There was a goddess in a long white chiffon gown, vixens in seductive black dresses and every one of our best selves in the glittering nude sequins, lavish glittering lace and ethereal chiffons.
