White Mountaineering SS25
When a woman is adopted by 3 gay men during Paris Men’s Fashion Week we get to do fun things like stop by Loewe, navigating through the paparazzi that are waiting for K-pop stars to arrive and enjoying bottles of Evian and champagne, refueling for the next show. Three Men and a Lady if you will (80s film reference). I could have stayed forever but I knew I would have been late for the next show if I didn't step out into the heatwave and brave the sticky walk.
The White Mountaineering's SS25 show at Paris Men's Fashion Week took place at the Palais de Tokyo. Within the first three looks I was immediately struck by the refreshing simplicity of the collection. It was a breath of fresh air in the recently overcomplicated world of menswear. White Mountaineering delivered a proper men's show, focusing on what truly matters; wearable, functional, and stylish clothing. Every look exuded an athletic and leisurely vibe, perfectly put together without unnecessary frills or political correctness. It was clear that the brand understands the essence of good dressing for the modern man.
What impressed me most was how White Mountaineering seamlessly blended functionality with style. The collection wasn't just about looking good; it was about dressing for real-life experiences. From city streets to mountain trails, each piece seemed designed with a specific purpose in mind. The show reflected the brand's philosophy of interpreting outdoor and sportswear through the lens of travel and new life experiences. It was evident that the designer, drawing from personal experiences, had considered every aspect of a man's lifestyle; from driving to a mountain retreat to layering for temperature changes at high altitudes.
As I watched the models walk down the runway, I couldn't help but appreciate the evolution of technology in fashion. The materials, the elasticity, the 3D designs - all spoke of advanced production techniques. Yet, at its core, the collection remained true to the timeless pleasure of dressing up for various occasions. White Mountaineering's SS25 collection was a testament to the brand's 19-year-old mantra: "The field in which we wear clothes is all outdoor." It was an invitation to unplug, explore, and enjoy the journey, a sentiment that resonated deeply with everyone present at the show.
