Kolor SS25
Kolor has consistently been the most prepared show of the season. This is not the first time they handed out ponchos for attendees, just in case it started raining. The on and off rains of the Parisian summer can catch one off guard. This time they have also provided a fan, an extremely welcome accessory. The setting of the show was outdoors in a pebbly garden. My friend JP put on his poncho just in case but I told him I think these sprinkles would pass us by and I'm happy to say I was right.
Kolor offers an array of sportswear and athleisure clothing that is unlike the athleisure we're used to seeing. There is so much more style in a Kolor shirt and skirt then there ever will be in let's say a Lululemon or Athleta. Kolor uses materials that were originally intended for activities such as hiking or camping. This athleisure is for moving around stylishly in the city.
Some of my favorite looks from the season were a billowing skirt that was made out of what looks like parachute material and the way that it catches the wind was just stunning. And unexpected look was a tulle shirt with a train that trailed behind the wearer like a superhero cape. At the very end of the show there were some stunning bright yellow ensembles that I wanted to see more of. I also loved the faux jacket/tuxedo look. It was very clever. The outer shirt resembles a sports coat and the contrasting collars of the inner button down shirt looked like a bow tie, creating the optical illusion of a tuxedo. Kolor does layering so well, I'd say it's a signature look for them and the genius of the design is that you can layer it with almost anything in the collection and it will look like it was meant to be.
