Henrik Vibskov AW23

Henrik Vibskov pays homage to the tomato, the fruit of the night, in his Autumn/Winter 2023 Studio collection. Drawn from the historical and cultural significance of the tomato, from its origin in the Americas to its arrival in the gardens of the De Medici, this collection celebrates the beauty, variety, and richness of the fruit.

Inspired by the tomato fights of Valencia, Spain, the collection takes cues from workwear and chef attire, as well as the simple shapes of storage solutions like cans and boxes. The silhouettes are designed to give the tomato room to grow, to expand. The prints reflect the diverse range of colors that make up the fruit, with lime green, orange, sand tones, and deep gold paired with the dark blues and greens of tomato orchards.

The fabrics used in this collection have been chosen with sustainability in mind, with 72% of all garments certified as sustainable and made from organic cotton, recycled polyester and PET bottles, Tencel, European linen, and virgin wool. The collection also includes certifications such as GOTS Organic, GOTS Made with Organic, GRS Global Recycled Standard, and uses nontoxic dyes and prints.

For the presentation of the AW23 Studio collection, Henrik Vibskov transports the viewer to a magical forest where mechanical trees breathe and harvest crops with long fingers. The gaze follows the ever-changing shadows on the forest floor to the branches that shoot into the sky, sprouting with deep red and pink leaves, ripe for picking.
