Victoria/Tomas AW24

Victoria/Tomas design duo, Victoria Feldman and Tomas Berzins, looked to Rodin's iconic sculpture, "Le Baiser" ("The Kiss") for their AW24 collection. During a late October visit to the Rodin museum in Paris they were inspired by the lightness of warm movements contrasted with the cold and heavy material of the sculpture. The marble hands entwine the female figure with protection and passion. Reinterpreted in this collection are heavy scarves which are integrated into the jackets and coats, wrapped around the form in the same way that "Le Baiser" would have enveloped the figure.

There were the signature cutaway surprises in this collection as Victoria/Tomas had used in seasons past. Small details such as tassels dangling at the peaks of the collars in the button down shirts and strategic gathers that compliment the form were reoccurring themes. Soft, draping fabric was also seen throughout this collection and lent a delicate and sensual energy to the season, as if lingering in bed on a cozy Sunday morning.

Victoria/Tomas always walked the line between feminine masculine themes. It's the round versus the angle, the soft versus the rigid. Their success comes from their ability to make these contrasting ideas work together. It's a balancing act. And I'm guessing that's a reflection of not only their work but also in their private life. From what I can see, it's a beautifully balanced season.
