Rochas AW24

Walking into this presentation I felt an overwhelming sense of self love and joy. The entire room was draped in the perfect shade of pink. It is the maturation of my childhood dreams of having an all pink room. In fact, I am now seriously debating if I should paint my room pink...

AW24 is designer Alessandro Vigilante's first season with Rochas. I was completely blown away by his debut. Everything about this collection was divine, it's a new perspective on elevated loungewear. Loungewear for the wealthy eccentric. Voluminous sleeves, satin comforters wrapped around the waist and used as a skirt, gloves that resembled rubber washing gloves (but in leather and lace) and a silver skirt and shoes that look like Brillo pads were used as appliqués on them. The colors were so beautiful all together. Sky blue with navy blue and grass green. A dark maroon with a pale yellow and barely peach lace. Mint green and aqua with a toffee velvet coat. This entire collection was so opulent and fanciful. It looked straight out of a movie. Now that I think of it, it reminds me a little bit of the costuming of the movie, "Poor things".

During this presentation I became completely enamored with two specific looks. The first one was a green off the shoulder satin dress that bloused at the waist and featured a ribbon of black lace that ran along these sleeves and the skirt. A second look that I could not keep my eyes off of was a velvet toffee colored trench that felt more like a Victorian jacket. The sleeves were cuffed and blouson-ed and the belt was replaced by four buttons along a double-breasted center front. The rest of the collection was absolutely stunning of course but these two looks caught my eye, perhaps because I could imagine myself in these easily.

The models left the show space in the quiet manner in which they entered it. We were given an opportunity to view the collection in different angles throughout this pink fabric covered space. I was sad to see the presentation end but I was also wondering if I should email the house and see if I can buy some of this pink fabric off of them for my room. This presentation will haunt me for a long time, it was glorious.
